2. General information on data processing
Personal data is only processed to the extent necessary to provide the app or where you have given explicit consent. Cats on the Block does not require a user account or registration.
3. Local data in the app
The app stores the following values exclusively locally on your device (in the app's private storage, not on a server):
- High score (Chill mode)
- High score (Magic mode)
- Best time (Speed mode)
- Your settings (e.g. sound on/off)
This local data never leaves your device and can be fully deleted by uninstalling the app. The app does not request your location and does not collect contact or calendar data.
4. Global Highscore (optional)
If you submit a score to the Global Highscore, a nickname of your choice along with your achieved score or time is transmitted to our server (Supabase) and displayed publicly on the leaderboard. Submitting a score is optional and not required to play the app. Only the nickname you chose and the score are transmitted - no real names, e-mail addresses, or device IDs.
5. Distribution via Google Play
Cats on the Block is distributed through the Google Play Store. When downloading and installing the app, Google independently processes data in accordance with Google's own privacy policy. We have no influence over this. → policies.google.com/privacy
6. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app displays advertising via Google AdMob (banner and interstitial ads). The following data may be transmitted to Google: a device advertising ID, general technical device information, and usage data for ad delivery and measurement. On first launch, users in the European Economic Area are shown a consent form asking whether they agree to personalized advertising, as required by law. Without consent, only non-personalized ads are shown.
Data transfers to Google (including to the USA) are based on EU Standard Contractual Clauses. More information: → policies.google.com/technologies/ads
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection regarding the processing of your data. For local app data, you can exercise this right directly by uninstalling the app or deleting its data. For Global Highscore entries, you can contact us by e-mail.
8. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, e.g. the data protection authority of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
9. Changes to this policy
We reserve the right to update this privacy policy whenever the app changes (e.g. new features, new third-party providers) or the legal situation changes.
